The pathway to creating Seasons of Life has been a lovely personal and professional journey. I am an artist and mother of three grown children. I am an educator, a Celebrant, and Interfaith Minister. My Irish heritage makes me a lover of language and story, metaphor and mystery and that love permeates all of my work.
I believe that creativity is our birthright and my training and experiences has been about creating caring spaces for the creative process to unfold.
Interfaith Minister: I was ordained at Riverside Church in New York City through One Sprit Interfaith Seminary. One Spirit is part of an important movement toward understanding the deep essences that underlie religious thinking. We honor and appreciate diversity as well as the life affirming spiritual principals that unite us. The two year program concentrates on studies in the great wisdom teachings, both ancient and modern. We experienced spiritual practices and ritual from around the globe. The training prepared me for interfaith ministry and spiritual counseling. My assignment is through One Spirit’s Community Outreach and is completely non-denominational. www.onespiritinterfaith.org
Celebrant: My concentration of study at the Celebrant USA Institute was Ceremonies for Couples, Families, Children and Life Transitions. The Celebrant training is an immersion into the mythology and history of ritual with a mind toward incorporating ritual in contemporary life. I had the honor of training with Dally Messenger, the founder of the Celebrant movement in Australia. I was also fortunate to be schooled by Charlotte Eulette, the founder of the USA counterpart. I periodically act as visiting faculty for the Institute. www.celebrantusa.com
MA New York University: I have a master's degree from New York University’s Gallatin Division in Performance Studies. My program was interdisciplinary, working with dance/movement, improvisation, somatic studies, and community art projects.
Artist and Educator: In addition to my work as an Interfaith Minister, Spiritual Counselor and Celebrant, my professional life has been as an artist and educator. I am interested in ways to weave personal stories with the collective experience and I have presented workshops internationally at universities, conferences, churches and retreats. My work combines spontaneous writing, drawing, movement, and imagery from nature. I have over twenty years of experience in teaching the creative process in community settings.
Seasons of Life integrates my life-long love of the artist’s way with my calling to be of service. I continually witness the miracles of joy, healing and contemplation that are possible when ceremony comes from the heart. It is a profound privilege to be doing this work, and to see the ways it transforms the lives of individuals, families and communities. Please contact me with comments or questions, e-mail is always best. Do it today, I sincerely would love to hear your story!
