The ceremonies that excite me can best be described as "creatively traditional." I believe it is necessary to honor the traditional structure and symbols of the wedding ceremony, but traditions should never feel confining. It is important that they continually be adapted and made relevant to your life. I have the resources and experience to help you form your innermost thoughts and feelings into ritual that is understood at a very deep level.
A ceremony that I create is collaboration between the couple and me. No two ceremonies are the same because each couple's love story is at the center of the event. With your input, I will write the ceremony. That process includes research and sensitively incorporating any cultural or religious traditions that are important to you. I will write as many drafts as necessary to make the occasion "a perfect fit." My aim is for the ceremony to flow easily and for everyone present to feel comfortable.
In addition, I will conduct a full on-site rehearsal, coordinating every aspect of the ceremony. I will provide a sound system and coach readers on their presentation. I will manage any significant objects necessary for the ceremony such as candles or goblet; and I will communicate with the staff the "venue" provides. Most importantly, I am your advocate making sure that your vision of the ceremony is adhered to.
More than any other keepsake from your wedding, your personal and individually created ceremony will be a reminder of who you are at this moment in your lives and the dreams you hold for the future.
